         All donations will be used to pay for Eddie Branch’s legal defense. Eddie needs to hire a strong legal defense team skilled in post conviction 2255 federal appeals.  He also needs a trial lawyer experienced in prison federal criminal federal cases.   All money left over will be used to set up a care and education fund for Nevaeh, the daughter of Amber and Derrick Sparks. We can do for her what her Dad is now unable to do.

We know these are tough economic times from everyone, and donations are hard to come by. We seek pro bono attorneys, law foundations, law schools that can step in and help network and research this case.  We need help pushing it forward in the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.  We need a private investigator who can access documents and witness interviews that we can’t.  We hope to have a forensic psychologist review the issues regarding state of mind.  The bottom line is we need a solid legal team, donations and loyal supporters to help get the word out.  The social networking sites like Facebook,My Space and You Tube have helped and we are thankful for that support…but we need to reach more people.  We want millions to hear the story, and we know there are more like Eddie’s. 

Since Eddie is in the Federal ADX SuperMax in Florence, Colorado (in the Bureau of Prisons system), he is very isolated and needs our help locating people.  He is locked down without access to a phone, email or any outside communication (outside of very slow mail) for 23 hours a day.  He gets one 15 minute phone call a month! Only through support of the public will this fight for justice be successful.  Kind hearts and hard work…lots of hard work to find justice against those who have all of the advantages and resources. Eddie can’t offer time cuts like the Government did…. he doesn’t have unlimited funds like the government did. …  he sits in a cage every day for defending his life.  There is much more information that we can provide.  If you email us at branchdefensefund@yahoo.com, you will get an immediate response.  Some of the legal correspondence is too lengthy to place on the site, but all documents are available to those who can assist.

         Send a copy of your letter to the President to Eddie too! Let him know you support him. He has promised to try to respond to every letter he received. Perhaps in this way you will find the same caring, generous person we have all come to know and love.

         Tell your friends to check out this website. The vast majority of the population write off prisoners as worthless individuals and “they got what they deserved.” Clearly this is ignoring the fact that every single case is different, and that the people need to know what is going on in this country’s judicial system and how the BOP is running the prisons that taxpayers are paying for. This website gives everyone a unique picture into both.

         It also helps people realize that not everyone who is sent to prison is guilty, that there are imperfect judges, indifferent juries, and prosecutors who are more interested in convictions than in justice.
